MGA's Peacock Gallery Features Ceramics Work

名媛直播's Peacock Gallery will feature the work of Sandra Trujillo, artist and associate professor of Art in Ceramics at Georgia College, and Curtis Stewardson, studio artist from Milledgeville from Monday, Nov. 14, 2016, through Friday, Jan. 20, 2017. An opening reception will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at the gallery, located in Russell Hall on MGA's Cochran Campus.

Sandra Trujillo & Curtis Stewardson are primarily ceramists who are combining drawing and pottery in this exhibition. The source material for this exhibition consists of an extension and simplification of a previous body of drawings they created during an artist-in-residency at the OBRAS Foundation in Portugal called "table for two". It was clear from the midpoint on this project that their drawings were destined to become something other than traditional dinnerware. The title of this body of work pays a debt to the great Georgio de Chirico for leading them into the path of impossible paths with looming shadows and dead ends. The students (especially art students) and community (pottery/ceramic enthusiasts) will benefit from seeing this exhibition.
